What you will do
- Design, build, test, ship, and operate end-to-end features for B2B biology products.
- Develop scalable backend services and REST/gRPC APIs that turn packaged biology models into product capabilities.
- Build data workflows using Python and SQL and contribute to frontend interfaces with modern web technologies.
- Build products on top of SDKs and model packages while feeding product requirements back to Product Engineers.
- Set technical patterns and standards, lead design for cross-cutting problems, and mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing.
- Collaborate with Product Engineers and platform/infra engineers to address scientific and customer needs.
Requirements
- Several years of advanced production experience with clean, tested, and maintainable Python.
- Strong full-stack capability across backend services and JavaScript/TypeScript frontend development using React, Vue, or a similar framework.
- Working knowledge of SQL, data workflows, software architecture, object-oriented and functional design principles, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience deploying applications and ML models in the cloud with containers; AWS is strongly preferred, with Docker and Kubernetes experience.
- Experience designing and integrating REST or gRPC APIs, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers.
- Full professional fluency in English is required. MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Nice to have
- Experience in pharma, biotech, healthcare, developer platforms, or externally used products.
- Deep AWS experience, including SageMaker, EC2, S3, IAM, and RDS.
- Familiarity with PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face Transformers, AI model deployment, hosting, and low-latency inference optimization.
- Experience with scientific visualizations, open-source projects, or startup environments.
