Salary: $250,000–$350,000 base salary per year, plus equity awards

What you will do

  • Design and implement modern SLAM systems for visual, visual-inertial, lidar, and multi-sensor configurations.
  • Develop localization and mapping pipelines covering pose estimation, map management, loop closure, and global optimization.
  • Research learning-based and hybrid SLAM approaches combining classical geometry with machine learning.
  • Build scalable state estimation frameworks using factor graph optimization, filtering, and smoothing.
  • Develop sensor fusion strategies and analyze failure modes such as perceptual aliasing, dynamic scenes, and drift.
  • Create evaluation benchmarks and optimize accuracy, robustness, memory usage, compute efficiency, and real-time performance for production systems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in SLAM, state estimation, robotics perception, or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of probabilistic estimation, optimization, geometric vision, bundle adjustment, factor graphs, and Kalman filtering.
  • Deep experience with visual, visual-inertial, lidar, multi-sensor, or hybrid SLAM systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ and experience building research or production-grade systems.
  • Experience with numerical optimization libraries or robotics frameworks, plus understanding of sensor calibration, synchronization, and noise modeling.
  • Ability to drive projects from concept through deployment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
