Air Quality Laboratory Manager

Location: Seville, Spain; hybrid work model with on-site presence at the Cartuja Park offices and availability for travel.

Salary: €30,900–€41,200 gross annually, plus potential variable pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Coordinate daily testing, calibration, verification, and quality-control activities in the air quality laboratory.
• Maintain equipment, reference standards, materials, records, and technical traceability.
• Ensure compliance with the ISO 17025 quality management system and support audits and accreditation assessments.
• Provide specialized technical guidance to air quality operation and maintenance teams across the national network.
• Investigate deviations, perform root cause analysis, and define corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor quality indicators, prepare technical reports, and standardize methodologies across teams.

Requirements

• University degree in Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Sciences, or an equivalent qualification related to atmospheric pollution.
• Experience managing environmental laboratories and/or quality systems accredited under ISO 17025.
• Knowledge of air pollutant monitoring equipment, measurement methodologies, and quality-control procedures.
• Experience with air quality monitoring networks, data validation, and operational control.
• Ability to guide multidisciplinary teams working across different geographical locations.
• Strong compliance mindset, attention to documentation, analytical skills, communication ability, and professional ethics.

Nice to have

• Additional training in quality management systems, analytical methods, environmental instrumentation, or environmental regulations.
• Experience with change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
