Performance Test Engineer (Python)

hirify.global secures and stress-tests products for demanding technology companies, including entertainment platforms and regulated financial and healthcare infrastructure.

What you will do

• Design realistic load-testing scenarios that model user behaviour and implement them in Python across HTTP, WebSockets, gRPC, protobuf, and bespoke binary protocols.
• Execute performance tests, analyse results, identify bottlenecks, and work iteratively with customer engineering teams to improve system behaviour.
• Maintain and improve hirify.global’s production load-testing platform across its Go backend, React and TypeScript frontends, PostgreSQL, AWS infrastructure, containers, and infrastructure as code.
• Investigate systems under high concurrency using metrics, traces, logs, and application behaviour.
• Lead technical customer sessions, explain findings, challenge ineffective test scenarios, and provide engineering recommendations.
• Support test windows outside normal office hours when customer environments or cross-time-zone engineering teams require it.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of shipped work.
• Strong Python skills for test scenarios and tooling.
• Hands-on cloud experience, ideally AWS, including infrastructure as code and containers.
• Ability to maintain typed backend and React frontend codebases built by others.
• Practical understanding of distributed-system failure modes, including timeouts, back-pressure, connection limits, resource contention, and high-concurrency failures.
• Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to lead technical customer discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Locust, k6, JMeter, Gatling, or self-built load-testing tools.
• Experience with games, real-time systems, or high-traffic consumer platforms.
