Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid work with three days per week in the office and two days at home

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance backend services and APIs for core AI products.
• Build production infrastructure that integrates LLM capabilities into scalable, resilient backend architectures.
• Bridge AI research and production software by improving latency, reliability, and observability.
• Establish engineering standards through code reviews, architectural design, distributed-systems practices, and Clean Code.
• Design and implement LLM evaluation frameworks for integrating new AI models into production flows.
• Make efficient software-building decisions based on product challenges.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on backend software development experience focused on complex distributed systems.
• Expertise in Python, modern backend technologies, and API design.
• Production experience developing LLM-based products, including agents or RAG systems.
• System architecture experience in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP, including CI/CD flows.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong understanding of automated testing across the testing pyramid; fluent written and verbal English; authorization to work in Israel.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases and LLM observability tools.
• Experience with conversational AI or complex dialogue management systems.
• Familiarity with MLOps and monitoring LLM performance in production.
• Background in data science or data engineering.
