Senior Application Security Engineer

Location: Remote in Portugal

What you will do

• Define security requirements for assigned products and help development teams build secure-by-design solutions.
• Identify and control application risks using threat modeling and related security techniques.
• Design and implement automated security tests.
• Perform manual security assessments, including source code reviews.
• Coordinate vulnerability response efforts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of application security experience, or 5+ years combining development and security roles.
• Experience turning SCA, SAST, and DAST findings into actionable, teachable guidance.
• Backend development experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Experience designing automated and manual unit and end-to-end tests.
• Familiarity with frontend development and at least one JavaScript framework.
• Strong programming, written communication, independent prioritization, and collaboration skills across distributed teams and diverse architectures.

Nice to have

• Application penetration testing experience.
