Senior Data Engineer (Telecom)

Location: Hybrid; regular time is expected in one of hirify.global' hubs, with occasional travel for workshops, customer meetings, and company off-sites. Salary bands are provided for the EU and UK.

Salary: €90,000–125,000 per year in the EU; £90,000–125,000 per year in the UK.

hirify.global is building an operating system for mobile services that enables technology companies to embed global connectivity and automate telecom provisioning.

What you will do

• Build and operate data platforms and pipelines for telecom usage, billing, financial reporting, and product analytics.
• Integrate data from internal systems, third-party tools, and external partners into a consistent platform.
• Own data modeling across the warehouse and establish scalable data structure standards.
• Work primarily with Python, SQL, and Dagster, while managing cloud infrastructure with Terraform.
• Design tests, monitoring, observability, and data quality checks to ensure reliable numbers.
• Partner with Finance, Network Integration, Product, and other stakeholders from problem scoping through production operation.

Requirements

• Experience designing and operating production data platforms, including ingestion, storage, modeling, orchestration, and reliability.
• Strong data modeling fundamentals and the ability to explain architectural trade-offs.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience using modern cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect; the platform uses Dagster.
• Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform and ownership of cloud infrastructure.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, plus effective use and critical review of AI engineering tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP data services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, or Dataflow.
• Stream processing experience.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation and modeling frameworks.
• Ability to read or contribute to Go or Ruby application code.
• Experience with financial, billing, metering, or usage data.
