Privacy Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada. Travel for in-person engagement may be required, including department offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events. Remote work means working from the employee's home country.

Annual base salary: USD 123,000–172,000 for US-based roles or CAD 111,000–155,000 for Canada-based roles.

What you will do

• Build and deploy agent-based workflows for privacy review intake, data subject rights requests, data inventory updates, and telemetry classification.
• Develop AI-assisted tooling that helps engineering teams identify privacy risks and apply safeguards earlier.
• Implement privacy controls for authorization, data scoping, retention, deletion, consent signals, and responsible data access.
• Integrate privacy tooling with CI/CD, code review, data catalogs, ticketing platforms, APIs, databases, and internal services.
• Improve log and telemetry handling through classification, minimization, and redaction.
• Write production-quality code, tests, and documentation while monitoring, evaluating, and iterating on deployed workflows.

Requirements

• Production software engineering experience in a SaaS, cloud, or similarly complex engineering environment.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, or another backend programming language, with strong testing, debugging, version control, and software design fundamentals.
• Experience building with LLM systems or comparable AI frameworks, including agents, tool-use pipelines, or multi-step orchestration workflows.
• Experience integrating software with APIs, databases, ticketing systems, CI/CD pipelines, or data platforms.
• Practical knowledge of data minimization, access controls, retention, deletion, consent, or privacy-conscious telemetry.
• Ability to own projects from implementation through delivery and collaborate with Security, Engineering, Product, Data, and Legal and Privacy partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, data subject rights workflows, data inventories, third-party integrations, threat modeling, or privacy reviews.
• Experience with prompt design, LLM output validation, reliability patterns, or privacy safeguards for AI-assisted features.
