Senior Software Engineer (Linux Kernel)

What you will do

• Track upstream Linux kernel developments and identify features relevant to networking products and internal development.
• Develop, maintain, debug, and optimize kernel features and tests using C, C++, and Python.
• Integrate new kernel versions into the operating system and contribute features to the upstream community.
• Qualify CPUs, NICs, and other kernel-dependent hardware with hardware engineers and vendors.
• Analyze customer and system-test issues, deliver fixes, and support production deployments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6+ years with a master’s degree, 3+ years with a Ph.D., or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level C programming experience; knowledge of C++ and Python is desirable.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, debugging, and developing Linux kernel features.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel architecture, upstream patching processes, and modern software engineering practices.
• Understanding of IP networking and x86 and ARM CPU architectures.
• Strong design, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and independent collaboration skills.
