Principal Hardware Design Engineer (Networking)

What you will do

• Define hardware architectures for complex boards and critical subsystems in advanced networking platforms.
• Lead system-level hardware design strategy across signal integrity, high-speed interconnects, power, reliability, lifecycle, and scalability.
• Drive technical decisions across hardware, SI/PI, firmware, software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams.
• Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of high-risk system-level hardware issues using advanced lab instrumentation and empirical data.
• Influence product feasibility, cost, performance, quality, and time-to-market through architectural trade-off analysis.
• Establish design standards, review complex designs, and mentor engineers developing into technical leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 16+ years of experience in high-performance hardware and system-level design, including products shipped to high-volume production.
• Deep expertise in high-speed digital design, signal integrity, SerDes architecture, channel budgeting, NRZ, and PAM4.
• Strong command of power architecture, including PDN design, sequencing, regulation strategies, and margin analysis.
• Experience with networking hardware such as switches, routers, or high-performance network appliances.
• Proficiency with DDR4/DDR5, PCIe Gen4/Gen5 or later, Ethernet PHYs and MACs, SGMII, XAUI, high-speed SerDes, PoE, CPU subsystems, Cadence PCB tools, and system-level debug.
