Senior Auditor - State Audit (US - Alexandria, VA)

Location: United States, Alexandria, Virginia; travel up to 25% may be required.

Salary midpoint: $86,000 annually.

What you will do

• Supervise a team of auditing professionals and delegate work while providing guidance.
• Test reported amounts and evaluate the operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Prepare and review workpapers, findings, reports, and other audit deliverables.
• Serve as the primary client liaison and lead client meetings.
• Manage assigned work areas and schedules to meet review and contractual deadlines.
• Use data analysis tools and AI to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting degree preferred.
• CPA certification or CPA candidacy is required.
• At least two years of accounting, auditing, or related technical experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel; ability to travel up to 25%.
