Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS): Designing and operating scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and automated delivery pipelines for self-developed banking applications with an accent on AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code. Focus on building reliable CI/CD workflows, implementing cloud security, and optimizing observability and operational performance in large-scale environments.

Location: Hybrid work with work-from-home options from Austria; work permit support is available for international applications.

Salary: Minimum EUR 3,375.40 gross per month under the Austrian Banking Collective Agreement; actual compensation is determined individually.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines with Argo CD and Kargo using GitOps practices.
• Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate workloads on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Crossplane, and CloudFormation.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health using Grafana, OpenSearch, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Collaborate with development teams and participate in Agile planning and ceremonies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of DevOps engineering experience in large-scale environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Hands-on experience with Argo CD, Kargo, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD development.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, tracing, cloud security, and compliance best practices.
• Ability to design scalable, cost-effective, and performant cloud solutions.
• Fluent English required. Strong communication skills are needed for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of German or other Central and Eastern European languages.
