Lead Fullstack Engineer (Platform Reliability)

Location: Remote within Massachusetts, with a preference for Boston; occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required.

Salary: $155,200–$213,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own uptime, performance, resilience, scalability, and operational health across NBA platform services.
• Write and ship production code as a hands-on individual contributor.
• Build automated unit, integration, load, and end-to-end testing infrastructure and enforce quality gates.
• Own structured logging, monitoring, alerting, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Design error-handling and failure-management patterns for distributed systems.
• Coordinate with delivery pod leads and manage quality and reliability contractors through production handoff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 6+ years of fullstack software engineering experience, including 1–2 years in platform reliability, software quality, or site reliability engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive technology experience as a senior developer on large technology projects.
• 2+ years of project leadership experience and experience leading a small team or pod.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing, integration testing, load testing, end-to-end coverage, observability, and distributed-system failure management.
• Ability to work across Java, Python, Node, and TypeScript, with strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Residence in Boston, Massachusetts, or a master’s degree.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, event-driven architectures, chaos engineering, or fault-injection testing.
• Background in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD quality gates.
