Software Engineer - Platform Interface (Networking)

Location: Onsite, with an expectation of primarily working from an HPE office

What you will do

• Develop platform software for JunOS and Junos Evolved networking products.
• Build software for board bring-up and 10G, 40G, 100G, and 400G interfaces, including interface drivers.
• Develop platform infrastructure for chassis, line cards, fabric, optics, and related components.
• Work with system and solution test teams to deliver high-quality products and solutions.
• Provide engineering assistance to the Juniper Technical Assistance Team during customer escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 6–10 years of professional experience.
• In-depth knowledge of data networking, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, and routing.
• Proficiency with device drivers, system bring-up, and FreeBSD/Linux internals.
• Strong C and C++ programming skills, object-oriented analysis and design, data structures, and system debugging.
• Understanding of firmware and hardware-level technologies including optics, PCIe, SPI, I2C, retimers, FPGA, CPLD, MDIO, and flash drivers.
