IT Project Management Officer Lead (SCM)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; permanent onsite position

What you will do

• Oversee the IT project portfolio, prioritizing initiatives and aligning execution with business strategy.
• Establish project governance, methodologies, templates, reporting standards, and documentation practices.
• Monitor and report project progress, risks, issues, costs, quality, scope, and schedules.
• Manage WMS/TMS and other SCM-related business application implementations.
• Lead IT infrastructure projects for new business launches and coordinate go-live activities.
• Evaluate and prioritize Change Requests, support project planning, and ensure audit compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading large-scale IT projects or PMO functions, including portfolio management and cross-project coordination.
• Practical knowledge of PMBOK, PMP, Prince2, or comparable project management methodologies.
• Experience with IT infrastructure or business application implementations; WMS, TMS, or SCM experience in logistics is preferred.
• Advanced risk, issue, budget, and progress management skills for large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of document management, internal controls, audit compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Fluent Japanese and English are required. A degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field is expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with WMS/TMS/SCM systems in logistics.
• Experience mentoring and developing Project Managers.
