Cloud Network Engineer II (Cloud Networking)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; remote eligible with restrictions. Occasional travel between retail stores, offices, worksites, or other locations may be required. The role operates in a 24/7 environment and may require after-hours, weekend, or holiday availability.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain data center, campus LAN, Internet Edge, branch office, hybrid cloud, and software-defined data center networks.
• Build physical and virtual network infrastructure using continuous delivery and automation methodologies.
• Configure and support firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, software-defined networking, and virtualized network functions.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 outages, manage escalations, and schedule infrastructure updates.
• Develop deployment and testing tools, improve operational reliability, and maintain network documentation.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, architecture, systems, and DevOps teams while mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor's degree in computer technologies, network engineering, or a related field.
• At least four years of combined experience in cloud networking, cloud network development, multicloud environments, or complex data center network management.
• Strong knowledge of IP addressing, routing, physical and virtual network infrastructure, SDN, VNFs, and Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting.
• Strong automation and scripting skills, with the ability to build, install, and configure IT solutions.
• Knowledge of agile methodology, continuous integration and delivery, network monitoring, documentation, and network diagramming.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, support 24/7 operations, collaborate with technical and non-technical staff, and provide technical direction to junior personnel.

Nice to have

• Cisco, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, or VMware certifications.
• Telecommunications experience or other telecom and role-specific certifications.
