Mid Data Engineer (Big Data & Cloud Technologies)

Location: Porto, Portugal, hybrid with remote work available up to 3 days per week. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in Europe.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Datalake pipelines using Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• Analyze requirements and propose robust Datalake architecture solutions.
• Gather, document, and manage application requirements in an Agile environment.
• Implement complex data-processing use cases and improve automation and efficiency.
• Support existing data processes, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with business users, analysts, data engineers, and developers.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies, including Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Kerberos, or Starburst.
• Strong Python and PySpark skills; experience with Spark is beneficial.
• Knowledge of data modeling principles and SQL.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts, Git, Jenkins, XL Deploy, and XL Release.
• Fluent English communication skills at minimum B2 level.
• Existing legal right to work in Europe is required.

Nice to have

• Performance optimization skills, including Shell scripting and execution plans.
• Knowledge of PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate, Azure, SharePoint Online, REST APIs, SSAS, or SSIS.
• Microsoft PL-series certifications such as PL-100 or PL-200.
• French language skills.
