Transition Fellow (Exposome Immunology)

Research fellowship hosted by the hirify.global in collaboration with the University of Oxford through the MRC Centre of Research Excellence in Exposome Immunology.

What you will do

• Develop and lead an original research programme aligned with the MRC CoRE’s focus on exposome immunology.
• Investigate how environmental exposures and infections contribute to asthma, COPD, and IBD.
• Establish an independent research group within the Centre.
• Combine computational approaches, experimental models, omics technologies, and experimental medicine studies.
• Generate preliminary data and develop applications for prestigious intermediate fellowships.
• Collaborate with immunologists, data scientists, clinicians, and environmental scientists across Manchester and Oxford.

Requirements

• Experienced postdoctoral researcher with a clear plan for an original, independent research programme.
• Research directly relevant to exposome immunology and chronic inflammatory disease.
• Ability to work across disciplines including immunology, inflammatory disease, atmospheric sciences, or data science.
• Evidence of strong mechanistic research, computational biology, bioinformatics, omics, microbiome, or experimental medicine experience.
• Applicants must not be seeking a clinical position through this post.

Nice to have

• Experience studying microbiome responses to environmental exposures.
• Research combining computational biology with wet-lab disease biology.
• Cross-disciplinary experience in neuroscience, matrix biology, genetics, or related biological systems.
