Senior QA Automation Engineer

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain a Java-based automation framework using Playwright for UI testing and REST Assured for API validation.
• Develop end-to-end smoke and regression coverage for budget execution, expenditure processing, treasury payments, revenue collection, and other GRP workflows.
• Integrate test layers into Jenkins pipelines with staged execution for commits, code freezes, and release candidates.
• Implement reusable utilities, test data management, reporting, parallel execution, environment configuration, and failure-notification processes.
• Track automation coverage and flakiness, improve test isolation, and collaborate with QA, development, functional analysis, and DevOps teams.
• Mentor QA engineers, review automation code, and establish maintainable coding and documentation standards.

Requirements

• On-site work in Krakow, Poland.
• At least 8 years of progressive QA automation experience with enterprise-scale web applications.
• Professional Java experience and advanced expertise with Playwright, REST Assured, Jenkins, Docker, TestNG or JUnit, Maven or Gradle, and Git.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of API, UI, integration, contract, test isolation, database, and flaky-test management practices.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and experience mentoring QA engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP, GRP, IFMIS, government financial management, or public-sector systems.
• Playwright Java bindings, Pact, microservice architectures, and inter-service API testing.
• Performance or load testing with Gatling, k6, or JMeter.
• SVN, Testomat.io, AI-assisted test generation, or a portfolio demonstrating automation framework design.
