What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of specialist compliance and fabric maintenance contracts across the university estate.
• Ensure contract delivery meets statutory requirements, university standards, and contractual obligations.
• Develop performance management frameworks, KPIs, and service-level agreements.
• Chair supplier review meetings and produce reports and action plans.
• Lead retendering activities, including specifications, tender evaluation, mobilisation, and contract review.
• Support the Deputy Head of Compliance in delivering a professional and customer-focused contract service.

Requirements

• Knowledge of statutory compliance in areas such as fire safety systems, boilers and chillers, security systems, lifts, automatic doors, or building fabric.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and its application to contract operations.
• Proven experience managing mechanical and electrical, fabric, or specialist compliance contracts within a complex estate.
• Excellent organisational, written, verbal communication, and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering, facilities, or building services, or equivalent practical knowledge and experience.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of HTM guidance, maintenance frameworks, public procurement regulations, or higher education and public-sector estate practices.
• Experience in higher education or a large, complex public-sector estate.
• Membership or prospective membership of IWFM, IFE, CIBSE, or CIPS.
• NEBOSH or IOSH health and safety qualification.
