ATS Software Engineer (Defense Simulation)

Location: Altus, Oklahoma, USA; onsite work at assembly shops, engineering labs, and customer sites. Only U.S. citizens are eligible, and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance is required.

What you will do

• Develop, modify, integrate, test, and deploy software applications for training system components.
• Support networking design, system configuration, operating system installation, and interfaces with platform simulation applications.
• Troubleshoot product-level software and system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate project status, technical risks, issues, and recommended solutions to lead engineers and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain design notes, installation guides, test procedures, and software support documentation.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and integration engineers while following configuration management and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 1–3 years of experience in software development, systems integration, or engineering support.
• Foundational knowledge of programming languages, debugging, and structured development practices.
• Familiarity with operating systems, networking principles, and software installation.
• Strong problem-solving, written communication, and technical documentation skills.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with simulation devices, training systems, or defense-related software.
• Knowledge of system integration and simulation platform interfaces.
• Experience with version control, configuration management, distributed computing, or simulation networking technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and integrated-system interactions.
