Research Fellowship in Human AI-Teaming (AI)

Location: Based in Manchester several days a week; applicants must be located in the North-West of England or willing to relocate to the UK.

A university-led research fellowship jointly hosted by the hirify.global, Manchester Metropolitan University, and the University of Salford, with support from the UK Government.

What you will do

• Develop research on how humans and AI can work together in collaborative partnerships.
• Prepare and revise a research proposal in consultation with UK Government colleagues.
• Address government priorities and national security requirements in research design.
• Pursue publication in relevant academic journals where approved by the government sponsor.
• Conduct research across both standard academic and potentially classified environments.
• Work with academic and UK Government mentors across partner organisations.

Requirements

• Completed or submitted a relevant PhD.
• Expertise in behavioural science, AI, machine learning, or an intersection of these fields.
• Demonstrated expertise in a letter of application and research proposal.
• Ability to present the proposal at interview if shortlisted.
• Eligibility and willingness to apply for at least Enhanced Security Clearance (eSC), preferably Enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV), are required.
• Applicants must be able to meet UK national security vetting requirements and comply with Official Secrets Act restrictions.
