ROSTER: Accelerated Disease Control Consultants (Immunization)

Location: Remote, with duty station in Nairobi and possible deployment to multiple duty stations as required.

What you will do

• Support disease elimination strategies, immunity-gap analyses, risk assessments, and immunization programme evaluations.
• Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate supplementary immunization activities, catch-up campaigns, and outbreak response immunization.
• Develop outbreak preparedness and response plans and provide technical support during outbreaks and health emergencies.
• Support polio integration, post-certification and cessation activities, including integration with routine immunization and primary health care.
• Provide immunization expertise for pandemic preparedness, vaccine deployment plans, supply chains, simulation exercises, and operational research.
• Coordinate with governments, hirify.global and WHO offices, Gavi, CDC organizations, and other international partners.

Requirements

• University degree in public health, epidemiology, medicine, immunization, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in immunization programmes, vaccine-preventable disease control, outbreak response, disease elimination, or health emergencies.
• Experience providing technical assistance at country, regional, or global level and supporting immunization campaigns or emergency responses.
• Expertise in immunization systems, disease surveillance, elimination strategies, campaign monitoring, risk assessment, and technical documentation.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Current health insurance coverage must be in place when the contract is awarded; valid visas and insurance remain the consultant’s responsibility.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of French.
• Experience with measles, rubella, diphtheria, yellow fever, cholera, meningitis, Ebola, mpox, polio, or maternal and neonatal tetanus programmes.
• Experience supporting Gavi funding applications or working in humanitarian and fragile settings.
• Experience working across multiple regions.
