Data Privacy Architect (AI)

Location: Virtual Office in Ireland with flexible hybrid work options and collaboration onsite in the Galway office.

What you will do

• Design and enforce privacy-by-design architecture patterns across the platform, including remediation of non-compliant designs.
• Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments and data flow mapping, translating regulatory obligations into technical controls.
• Interpret GDPR, CCPA, FedRAMP, the EU AI Act, and emerging AI regulations for architectural decisions.
• Define and govern data classification, retention, anonymization, deletion, access governance, and secure data flows.
• Lead privacy and regulatory architecture for internally developed and third-party AI models.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Engineering teams while maintaining architecture documentation for audits and attestations.

Requirements

• Strong experience in data, privacy, security, or platform architecture, translating regulatory requirements into scalable technical controls.
• Strong knowledge of data privacy principles, particularly GDPR, and practical experience with privacy-by-design architecture.
• Experience leading or contributing to DPIAs and data flow mapping exercises.
• Understanding of data classification, retention, anonymization or tokenization, deletion, and secure data flows.
• Experience with cloud platforms, data stores, and Identity and Access Management concepts.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and challenge designs that do not adequately address privacy or regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with CCPA, FedRAMP, the EU AI Act, and other emerging AI governance frameworks.
• Experience designing privacy controls for AI and machine learning systems, including training data governance and inference risks.
• Experience with data lineage and observability capabilities for privacy assessments and regulatory accountability.
• Hands-on experience with AWS S3, Redshift, Snowflake, or equivalent cloud data technologies.
• Privacy, security, cloud, or architecture certifications such as CIPT, CIPP/E, CISSP, or AWS/Azure certifications.

Hiring process
