Principal Engineer (Audio Perceptual Validation): Leading perceptual and workflow validation for audio technologies within the Audio Performance & Integrity team with an accent on expert listening, DSP behavior, and structured alpha validation. Focus on detecting subtle system-level artifacts, designing statistically supported listening experiments, resolving complex audio quality issues, and guiding release readiness.

What you will do
- Act as an embedded expert alpha validator throughout feature development and maturation.
- Provide actionable perceptual feedback and identify subtle artifacts, parameter interactions, and workflow friction.
- Lead perceptual validation strategies across complex projects and release trains.
- Design and oversee controlled listening experiments and interpret statistically supported findings.
- Drive resolution of systemic audio quality issues and define best practices for perceptual certification.
- Mentor specialists and represent perceptual authority during final validation and release readiness discussions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in audio engineering, tuning, mastering, or an equivalent senior audio domain.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in sound engineering, electrical engineering, signal processing, or an equivalent field.
- Highly developed listening expertise with the ability to detect subtle artifacts and complex interaction effects.
- Strong understanding of DSP behavior and its perceptual consequences.
- Experience guiding development teams, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and resolving complex quality issues.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in technically complex environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with statistically rigorous listening studies, psychoacoustics, or applied audio research.
- Experience mentoring or leading technical specialists.
- Background in automotive or embedded audio systems.
- Exposure to benchmarking or large-scale listener panel methodologies.
- Valid driver’s license and proficiency in the local language.
