What you will do

• Design scheduling systems that allocate experiments, instruments, and compute across autonomous laboratories using durable Temporal workflows.
• Build digital-twin data layers that enable simulation and prediction of laboratory and factory behavior.
• Develop Flyte pipelines, S3 lakehouse structures, and PostgreSQL models for governed experimental data.
• Deliver batch and event-driven pipelines that provide clean data to scientists and models.
• Create customer-facing capacity-planning services for forecasting factory resources.
• Operate scalable services on AWS EKS with Docker, ECR, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of backend engineering experience building production Python services with FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and workflow orchestration such as Flyte or Temporal.
• Practical SQL and data modeling experience with PostgreSQL, S3, and data lakehouse architectures.
• Experience delivering cloud-native systems with containers, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD; AWS EKS, Docker/ECR, Terraform, and GitHub Actions are preferred.
• Ability to own services from design through delivery, reliability, and iteration.
• Clear communication with engineers, scientists, and business partners.

Nice to have

• Systems engineering experience in aerospace, manufacturing, healthcare, or life sciences, including regulated environments.
• Experience with robotics, laboratory automation, LIMS, or manufacturing/MES systems.
• Knowledge of job scheduling, resource allocation, or constraint and optimization problems.
• Experience with Ray, Weights & Biases, model serving, NATS, MQTT, or similar technologies.
