Location: 100% remote within the UK or EU; hiring from Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom. New joiners must visit the office on their first day to collect equipment.

Salary: €90,000–€140,000 in Germany; €85,000–€125,000 in the Netherlands; €65,000–€95,000 in Portugal and Spain; £80,000–£120,000 in the United Kingdom. Base salary only.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate cloud-native microservices in Go for a real-time payments platform.
• Build highly available, low-latency, and scalable services handling billions of payment requests.
• Own services throughout their lifecycle, including production support and operational improvements.
• Improve resilience, observability, cost efficiency, simplicity, and operational risk management.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and operational stakeholders in autonomous teams.
• Use technologies including Kubernetes, CockroachDB, NATS JetStream, and automated DevOps tooling.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with Go and software engineering best practices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and complex, high-performance software.
• Experience with cloud and containerization technologies, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to own projects end to end and support services in production.
• Commitment to clean code, simplicity, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and knowledge-sharing skills.
