Principal Architect (Data Architecture) (Data Platforms/Analytics): Designing data architectures, pipelines, and stores that transform raw data into reliable business intelligence and analytical solutions with an accent on data modeling, platform selection, and cross-system integration. Focus on mapping complex domain models, deploying and troubleshooting pipelines across cloud and legacy environments, and leading technical discussions with clients and delivery teams.

Location: Remote within the United States; occasional work at corporate or client offices may be required.

Salary: USD 160,000–240,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Coordinate with internal, external, and client stakeholders to define project scope, system goals, and requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data consumption and use.
• Recommend suitable data platforms, repositories, databases, and cloud-based equivalents.
• Design data mappings, models, diagrams, flowcharts, and specifications for development and testing.
• Deploy and troubleshoot data pipelines across legacy and modern environments, including application servers, queues, API gateways, and databases.
• Participate in agile and Scrum ceremonies while collaborating with technical leads, developers, solution teams, and clients.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing data pipelines and data stores.
• Experience designing data architectures for business intelligence and analytical use cases, including data warehouses and data marts.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data mapping, SQL, relational and non-relational databases, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, ETL tools, and technologies such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Apache NiFi.
• Knowledge of architectural principles including hub-and-spoke, bus, and event-driven architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Consulting experience.
• Experience with big data on cloud platforms, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, AWS, RDS Oracle, or Redshift.
• Python or PowerShell scripting experience.
• Working knowledge of data science technology stacks, BI analytical products, AI, and emerging technologies.
