Electronics Hardware Engineer

Location: On-site at the Chesterbrook Corporate Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania; candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

What you will do

• Develop platform and board-level architectures, design requirements, schedules, and cost targets in collaboration with software, mechanical, marketing, system test, and manufacturing teams.
• Evaluate components and create schematics, FPGA code, source code, and engineering documentation for electronic designs.
• Support PCB layout, software integration, system testing, product qualification, and compliance and regulatory testing.
• Debug and bring up platform and test-card designs in the laboratory and support production transition.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with platform or test-card specification, design, debugging, and laboratory bring-up.
• Strong digital board design experience, basic signal integrity knowledge, board layout tools, and schematic capture tools such as Cadence, ORCAD, or Mentor Graphics.
• Strong system-level debugging and technical root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience using laboratory equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cadence Concept schematic tools and Allegro CAD tools.
• Experience with board power distribution, FPGAs, programmable logic devices, and Verilog.
• Experience with C, Python, Visual Basic, Perl, TCL, RTL, or other programming languages.
• Experience with signal integrity simulation tools, power integrity tools, timing analysis, and functional simulation.
• Completion of several board and system development projects.
