Embedded Software Engineer

What you will do

• Develop and commission embedded software for new products and platforms.
• Modernize RXE and CSS product lines and migrate existing products to contemporary software platforms.
• Evaluate microprocessors and embedded technologies for future development.
• Maintain and extend products throughout their lifecycle, including Debian Linux kernels and drivers.
• Analyze hardware and software issues and provide technical support to service, production, and assembly teams.
• Collaborate with software, electronics, and mechanical engineering teams while improving development processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development within an industrial R&D environment.
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ and C, plus experience with Git and modern software development processes.
• Understanding of electronics, including reading schematics and measuring signals.
• Knowledge of unit and system testing, with experience in structured, analytical, solution-oriented work.
• Fluent English required; German is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or C# and tools such as GCC, CMake, Visual Studio Code, and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of the Zephyr embedded operating system.
• Experience with Embedded Linux systems and Linux driver development or maintenance.
