Laboratory Specialist (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Onsite in Chesterfield, St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Salary: $68,600–$114,300 annual base salary, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Execute product testing requests, protocols, engineering studies, and validation studies.
• Prepare electronic laboratory notebook, testing, validation, and project documentation.
• Coordinate laboratory records, reports, technical data files, databases, and approvals to support project milestones.
• Collaborate with multifunctional teams to resolve product testing issues and improve test methods and component specifications.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, support calibration activities, and resolve calibration alerts.
• Support laboratory safety initiatives, audits, materials acquisition, and appropriate product disposition or disposal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instruments or equipment.
• Experience coordinating project testing and developing testing methodologies.
• Experience testing pharmaceutical container systems, components, and materials.
• Experience working in a regulated environment and supporting medical product development.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; TN, O-1, H-1B, and other U.S. work visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of microbiology testing and experience defending laboratory practices during regulatory audits.
• Experience with viable and non-viable environmental monitoring in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, including responsible AI and risk management practices.
