Quality Inspector

What you will do

• Inspect parts, assemblies, purchased components, and manufactured equipment during receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
• Perform visual weld inspections and leak, permeability, dimensional, and other quality tests.
• Review drawings, job records, supplier documentation, sales orders, and customer requirements for compliance.
• Document, communicate, investigate, and close nonconformances, including verification of completed repairs.
• Calibrate and manage meters and test equipment, including calibration records and recall systems.
• Maintain quality procedures and work instructions, support audits, customer inspections, safety programs, and ISO quality activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems and mechanical inspection in a manufacturing or service environment.
• Experience with welding, weld inspection, forging, casting, fabrication, machining, or mechanical equipment assembly.
• Ability to qualify as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and VT Level II Inspector.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, analyze quality issues, and communicate clearly with employees, managers, customers, and vendors.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing.
• High ethical standards, integrity, collaboration skills, and commitment to safe work practices are required.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• AWS CWI, ASQ, or ASNT certification.
• Six Sigma, Lean, or other quality and business certifications.
• Experience with quality programs and ERP/MRP systems.
