Location: Hybrid role with the potential home studio in Irvine, California, United States; remote work arrangements may be considered. This is a temporary position lasting approximately five months.

Salary: $35.03–$64.80 hourly, equivalent to approximately $5,605–$10,368 per month based on 160 hours.

What you will do

• Create storyboard sequences from thumbnails through rough and clean passes based on scripts, outlines, and director objectives.
• Maintain consistent vision, style, and storytelling across shows and intellectual properties.
• Collaborate with directors, supervisors, producers, editors, creative leadership, and production teams on direction, design, timelines, and complexity.
• Pitch storyboards to creative and executive stakeholders, receive feedback, and revise boards accordingly.
• Participate in script meetings and pitches when requested, contributing storyboarding expertise.
• Manage documentation and delivery requirements according to production guidelines.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as a storyboard artist and/or director.
• Strong figurative and perspective drawing skills, including the ability to draw characters on model in three-dimensional settings.
• Advanced staging, cinematography, composition, timing, screen direction, continuity, and cinematic language skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Cintiq, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, and Photoshop.
• Strong communication, time management, troubleshooting, status reporting, and deadline-management skills.
• Resume and a portfolio link with storyboard examples, ideally boards in PDF format or a full animatic.

Nice to have

• Experience with Blender 3D.
