What you will do

• Design hand-drawn and digitally composited 2D effects to enhance character performance and cinematic quality.
• Collaborate with the Production Designer and Visual Development team to iterate on magical effects.
• Define and establish the visual language for various styles of magic throughout the film.
• Maintain consistency in style, timing, weight, and physics across sequences.
• Apply core animation principles to ensure fluid motion and readable silhouettes.
• Troubleshoot technical and creative challenges within established pipeline constraints.

Requirements

• Must be based in California, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, United Kingdom, or Spain.
• 1+ year of experience in 2D animation or visual development with a focus on effects.
• Strong background in traditional 2D animation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Photoshop, Nuke, After Effects, Toon Boom Harmony, or TVPaint.
• Strong grasp of timing, weight, and physics as applied to effects animation.
• Ability to take direction, iterate quickly, and conceptualize creative ideas.
