TL;DR
Data Engineer (Python/AWS): Building and strengthening data engineering services for a GovTech platform that connects government services, payments, reporting, and analytics with an accent on ETL pipelines, data quality, and large-scale data processing. Focus on designing reconciliation systems, integrating heterogeneous data sources, and supporting analytical reporting through warehouses, BI tools, and visualization systems.
Location: Kansas City; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
Annual salary: $100,000–$125,000 USD

What you will do
- Build and maintain ETL solutions that transform data across multiple source systems.
- Develop data engineering services supporting reporting, visualization, data warehouses, and business intelligence tools.
- Process and validate large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Design and maintain reconciliation systems that compare data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and the broader Engineering organization to deliver accurate, high-quality data.
Requirements
- Expertise in Python and strong SQL skills.
- Experience deploying software to public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS; GCP or Azure experience is also relevant.
- Experience with relational databases, NoSQL systems, and cloud data storage; DocumentDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL are preferred.
- Experience building ETL solutions and analytical reporting or business intelligence systems.
- Authorization to work in the United States or Canada without employer sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with distributed systems, real-time payments, or financial and accounting systems.
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, microservices, or Agile methodologies.
- Experience with QuickSight, Tableau, or Looker.
