Senior Analyst, Internal Audit

Location: New York, NY, USA; onsite five days a week in the office. Applicants must already have U.S. work authorization that does not require employer visa sponsorship.

Salary: $92,000–$115,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Review and process outside counsel and legal vendor invoices against engagement letters, billing guidelines, and approved budgets.
• Track legal spend by matter, entity, and business unit, including reporting, accruals, and cost forecasts.
• Prepare, submit, and monitor insurance claims for reimbursable legal expenses and reconcile recoveries in the general ledger.
• Support commercial contract reviews by analyzing payment terms, indemnification, insurance, termination, and audit provisions.
• Test controls, perform transaction sampling, document findings, and support internal and external audit requests.
• Improve policies and procedures for legal spend, vendor management, and expense recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in finance, accounting, legal billing or e-billing, insurance claims, or internal audit.
• Strong understanding of accruals, receivables, and general ledger fundamentals.
• Advanced Excel skills, including building trackers, reconciliations, and reports from scratch.
• Exceptional attention to detail, persistence, follow-through, and written communication skills.
• Must be based in the United States with work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience reviewing legal invoices or managing insurance claims and recoveries.
• Experience in entertainment, sports, media, or another matter-intensive industry.
• Exposure to internal audit frameworks or SOX-style controls testing.
• CPA, CIA, or paralegal/legal operations background.
