Senior Accountant

Location: San Francisco, in-office

Salary: $96,000–$132,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Own key areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments, cash application, aging reports, coding, and approvals.
• Prepare audit support documentation and help ensure successful internal and external audits.
• Partner with Finance, People, and Operations to support growth and improve accounting processes.
• Identify, pilot, and champion AI-assisted automation opportunities across accounting functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification or progress toward one is preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Hands-on experience with the general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and travel and expense operations.
• Highly proficient in Excel with strong attention to detail and the ability to independently resolve discrepancies.
• Comfort working with ownership and initiative in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with accruals, prepaids, investments, internally used software, ASC 842 leases, revenue, foreign currency, or consolidation.
• Experience in a high-growth or hyper-growth company.
• Familiarity with modern accounting, ERP, and corporate card or expense platforms.
