Senior Director, Clinical Excellence Group Lead (I&I)

Location: Hybrid role based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $214,900–$358,100 annual base salary, plus a 22.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of clinical scientists while promoting collaboration, accountability, learning, and agility.
• Provide strategic clinical and scientific oversight across medium- to high-complexity Inflammation & Immunology studies.
• Guide protocol design, clinical documentation, data review, safety surveillance, risk management, and regulatory submissions.
• Identify and implement AI/ML, automation, digital, and advanced analytics solutions for trial design and execution.
• Build operating practices, governance frameworks, metrics, dashboards, financial models, and scalable efficiency improvements.
• Partner with Clinical Operations, Data Science, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Digital, Technology, and Portfolio Strategy teams.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree required; MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive clinical research and development experience with an MBA/MS, or at least 7 years with a PhD, in pharmaceutical or biotechnology settings.
• Experience supporting global clinical programs in regulated GxP environments.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing clinical or cross-functional teams.
• Strategic or applied experience with AI, machine learning, automation, digital tools, or advanced analytics in clinical development or research.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Deep expertise in Inflammation & Immunology therapeutic areas.
• Experience leading organizational change management or digital transformation.
• Experience with real-world data, digital endpoints, decentralized trials, or innovative clinical trial technologies.
• Experience in portfolio strategy, resource planning, financial modeling, or business analytics.
