Senior Director, Clinical Excellence AIR - Bronchiectasis & Non-obstructive Lung Diseases (Clinical Development): Shaping and executing global clinical development strategies for respiratory indications across early- to late-stage programs with an accent on clinical trial design, regulatory alignment, and patient impact. Focus on leading physician-scientists and clinical program leaders, advancing programs toward approval, and solving complex scientific, operational, and cross-functional challenges.
Location: Europe, Italy; flexible working approach and remote working are offered.

What you will do
- Define and drive clinical development strategies for bronchiectasis, pulmonary hypertension, and interstitial lung diseases.
- Represent clinical development in global cross-functional governance for asset development and prioritization.
- Lead and develop a geographically distributed team of Clinical Development physicians and Clinical Program Leaders.
- Provide medical and scientific leadership across all phases of clinical trials, including study design, endpoints, and execution strategies.
- Support health authority briefing documents and major regulatory submissions.
- Drive operational excellence through coaching, resource planning, risk mitigation, succession planning, and talent development.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, including substantial clinical development leadership and matrix or direct line management.
- Demonstrated success designing and executing comprehensive clinical development plans and advancing programs from early development through regulatory submission and approval.
- Experience leading global clinical teams in matrixed, cross-functional environments.
- MD degree required.
- Fluency in spoken and written English required.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership presence, analytical skills, clinical acumen, communication, and senior-level influencing ability.
