TL;DR
Junior Software Engineer (iOS) – Mobile Apps (Swift/SwiftUI): Building and maintaining iPhone applications and internal mobile services for BBC colleagues with an accent on Swift-based development, API integration, and automated testing. Focus on designing reliable mobile features, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to code reviews, agile planning, and continuous delivery.
Location: Any UK base or remote within the United Kingdom
Salary: Up to £42,000 per year

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, release, and maintain iPhone applications.
- Collaborate closely with the CDA product team.
- Write automated tests and troubleshoot application issues.
- Participate in pairing, code reviews, agile planning, and continuous delivery.
- Contribute to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Learn and apply new technologies while maintaining existing systems.
Requirements
- Good experience writing iOS applications with Xcode.
- Good experience with Swift, SwiftUI, SwiftData, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to professional development and willingness to share knowledge.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is required.
Nice to have
- Understanding of UI/UX design and mobile accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with UIKit.
- Experience with CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager.
