QA Engineer (Cypress)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States; contractor engagements are available to residents of all 50 US states. Public Trust clearance and compliance with CMS residency requirements are required.

What you will do

• Review requirements, user stories, and design mockups to define testing scope.
• Create and maintain test plans and documentation for functional, performance, accessibility, usability, and security testing.
• Perform manual, automated, regression, exploratory, and cross-browser testing across responsive websites.
• Identify Section 508 accessibility requirements and validate their implementation.
• Log reproducible defects in Jira and collaborate with developers on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and fix validation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, risk assessments, security testing, and continuous testing-process improvements.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Ability to create test scenarios, test plans, and test cases from requirements.
• Experience with Section 508 accessibility standards, Cypress, and Jira.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal Public Trust clearance and satisfy CMS residency requirements.
• Independent contractor documentation, including Form W-9 and proof of general liability insurance, is required before starting.

Nice to have

• Experience developing automated tests with Cypress or PHPUnit.
• Experience with load and stress testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
