What you will do

• Design and build functional prototypes for UAS subsystems, iterating based on flight tests and mission requirements.
• Conceptualize, design, and execute test fixtures for prototype components.
• Perform FEA studies (Linear Static, Linear Dynamic, Nonlinear Dynamic, Thermal) to validate mechanical results.
• Prepare technical documentation and fabrication/assembly data for manufacturers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical and software engineering teams.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD, specifically Solidworks.
• Experience with Solidworks FEA.
• Experience with basic manufacturing and prototyping using 3D printers.
• Must be able to work on-site in El Segundo, CA.

Nice to have

• Sheet metal design and manufacturing experience.
• Proven record of taking a product from the conceptual stage to production.
