Information System Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Support assigned information systems through all phases of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle.
• Maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), security documentation, and authorization artifacts.
• Collaborate with System Owners to ensure security requirements are integrated into system operations.
• Track vulnerabilities, POA&Ms, remediation efforts, and risk acceptance decisions.
• Coordinate annual assessments, Security Control Assessments (SCAs), and audits.
• Prepare recurring authorization status reports and security summaries for government stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Three or more years of experience supporting Federal cybersecurity, RMF, Assessment and Authorization (A&A), or information assurance programs.
• Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, and FISMA.
• Experience supporting authorization package development and maintenance.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for coordinating across multiple organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or other Federal civilian agencies.
• Proficiency with JCAM, eMASS, ServiceNow GRC, Archer, or similar governance platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and Zero Trust initiatives.
• Certifications such as Security+, CGRC, CAP, CISSP, or CISM.
