Software Engineer II (AI)

TL;DR

Software Engineer II (AI) (React/Node.js/TypeScript): Building AI-powered internal applications, reusable platform components, and agentic workflows across the full stack with an accent on rapid prototyping, secure scalable services, and self-serve capabilities. Focus on designing multi-agent systems, integrating cloud infrastructure and data-intensive services, and improving engineering workflows through agentic development and QA.

Location: Hybrid work from the Bucharest, Romania office, with flexibility to work remotely when not in the office. Larger in-person gatherings usually take place a few times per year. hirify.global is currently unable to hire in Quebec, Northern Ireland, or Hawaii.

Salary: RON 21,000–26,000 gross per month, plus an annual bonus of up to 10%.

What you will do

• Build and support AI-powered application features across design, implementation, deployment, and production operations.
• Develop React interfaces and Node.js with TypeScript REST APIs, integrating relational databases and data-processing services.
• Build and extend agentic AI workflows and multi-agent systems that automate complex internal processes.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, container orchestration, testing, and production readiness.
• Identify technical debt and scalability risks while generalizing solutions into reusable platform components.
• Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate from user feedback.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
• At least 2 years of experience with React or another modern frontend framework, with React specifically required for the role.
• Experience with microservices, service-oriented architectures, relational databases, data models, and efficient queries.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Docker, and ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
• Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code and contribute across the full SDLC, including production support.
• Hands-on experience with agentic development, prompt planning, multi-agent workflows, tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, and agentic QA systems.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-powered internal tools, self-serve platforms, or automation for non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG architectures, or LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Familiarity with platform engineering patterns, configurable APIs, UI/UX practices, or WCAG accessibility standards.
