What you will do

• Own and evolve the metering pipeline to ensure billable events are counted without drift, delay, or loss.
• Deepen Stripe integration, extending subscription management, usage record reporting, and invoice lifecycle handling.
• Build and maintain cloud marketplace integrations for AWS, Azure, and GCP entitlement systems.
• Ship customer-facing usage dashboards and real-time cost forecasting tools.
• Improve billing alerting and notifications to surface anomalies and budget thresholds.
• Set architectural patterns and mentor engineers on billing architecture through code reviews and design discussions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production billing or metering systems.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Stripe, including webhooks, usage records, and subscription state machines.
• Strong proficiency in Go or Java.
• Experience designing distributed systems at scale, with a clear understanding of reliability, consistency, and failure modes.
• Must be based in the EMEA region.
• Staff-level ownership mindset: ability to identify systemic problems and push for the correct architectural solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud marketplace billing on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and the broader observability ecosystem.
• Background in usage-based or consumption pricing models at a SaaS company.
