Principal Golang Engineer

TL;DR

Principal Golang Engineer (Go/Financial Infrastructure): Building high-performance backend services for financial reconciliation, real-time accounting, data consistency checks, and provider integrations with an accent on scalability, auditability, and reliability. Focus on designing distributed systems, asynchronous processing and failure recovery, and complex architecture decisions for financial control infrastructure.

Location: Remote from anywhere in the world, with the option to work from the office in Tbilisi. Relocation support to Tbilisi is available.

What you will do

• Design and implement backend services in Go for reconciliation, accounting, data processing, and financial provider integrations.
• Define service boundaries, data ownership, APIs, and event flows.
• Design reliable asynchronous processing and failure-recovery mechanisms.
• Ensure data consistency, traceability, auditability, performance, and scalability.
• Review code and technical designs, and prepare RFCs, system diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
• Help engineers solve complex technical problems and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software development experience with strong production experience in Go.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including transactions, locking, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, message brokers, idempotency, retries, message ordering, and partial failures.
• Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, HTTP APIs, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Russian is required for day-to-day team communication; English is required for code and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Production experience with NATS.
• Experience with event sourcing or append-only data models.
• Experience with financial, payment, reconciliation, ledger, or accounting systems.
• Experience with OpenAPI, ogen, sqlc, distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics, or production diagnostics.
