Senior/Staff iOS Engineer (iOS Lead)

Ethena Labs builds a consumer money app — the native iOS app is the primary way users hold and move money. This role focuses on shipping a polished, secure, design-led iOS experience that feels fast, fluid, and pixel-perfect.

Responsibilities:

- Be the top contributor: write and ship the majority of the app yourself, including the hardest surfaces and polish.
- Own the native iOS app end-to-end — architecture, build, and quality bar.
- Coordinate the App Store release pipeline: certificates, provisioning profiles, entitlements, associated domains, TestFlight/App Store submission.
- Own core app surfaces with full design authority; keep implementations legible, documented, and easy for the team to extend.
- Raise iOS quality and visual craft, enforce a test strategy, and close UI/polish gaps against the Liquid Glass design language.
- Act as default reviewer and decision-maker on iOS, mentor the team, and drive mobile direction and roadmap.

Requirements:

- Shipped and maintained native iOS apps handling real money or sensitive financial/crypto data from world-class consumer apps where design is a competitive advantage (e.g., Revolut, Monzo, Cash App, Robinhood, Coinbase, or design-led crypto apps).
- Strong Swift and SwiftUI skills — modern concurrency (async/await, actors), state and navigation architecture, performance, and memory management.
- Proven track record of visually excellent, pixel-perfect apps; experience working closely with designers (Figma) and applying modern iOS design (Liquid Glass, SF Symbols, Dynamic Type).
- Experience integrating money-app SDKs and auth systems: passkeys/WebAuthn (ASAuthorization), embedded-wallet/auth infra (Privy, Dynamic/Turnkey/Magic), WalletConnect/Reown, KYC SDKs (SumSub, Onfido, Persona), account funding/aggregation (Mesh or Plaid-class), push/attribution (Firebase, AppsFlyer).
- Secure on-device handling: Keychain, biometric gating, and disciplined avoidance of token/PII leakage to logs or analytics.
- Comfortable owning and evolving a large existing iOS codebase and setting technical direction.
- Agent-native: experienced using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code), MCP servers, and reusable skills as force multipliers and able to explain where they do and don’t apply on iOS work.
