Principal Application Engineer-VTD (Autonomous Driving Simulation)

What you will do

• Research autonomous driving development trends, simulation testing technologies, VTD architecture, operating mechanisms, core modules, and industry-level simulation solutions.
• Design and implement customized full-scenario autonomous driving simulation testing solutions for customers across MIL, SIL, HIL, DIL, and cloud-based simulation.
• Provide full-lifecycle technical support for VTD simulation testing, resolving issues in software operation, environment setup, and test execution.
• Support project delivery through customer communication, requirements decomposition, technical implementation, and issue closure.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in autonomous driving simulation testing, including the full workflow and specifications of automated AD testing and deployment, maintenance, and optimization of simulation test systems with proven project delivery experience.
• Expertise in the full functionality of VTD and proficiency in setup, commissioning, and delivery of VTD-based XIL solutions.
• Thorough understanding of scenario simulation, vehicle dynamics simulation, and automated testing tool operating principles and collaboration logic.
• Experience with VTD cloud simulation, including architecture design, deployment, compatibility debugging, maintenance, and optimization on private-cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to independently diagnose and fix VTD defects involving software usage, simulation runtime, and system compatibility.
• Ability to configure parameters, adjust functions, and customize VTD IG, ROD, and MM modules for customer testing requirements.
• Proficiency in VTD camera sensor simulation, including clock-source and data-refresh-rate adaptation across multi-system environments; expertise in LiDAR simulation modeling, model revision, parameter calibration, and performance optimization for different hardware specifications.
• Strong client communication, requirements decomposition, project management, logical thinking, accountability, and ability to complete end-to-end technical implementation independently.
• Ability to read English technical literature and communicate in spoken English on a daily basis.
• Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Vehicle Engineering, or a related discipline; graduation from a 985/211 university is preferred, and the degree requirement may be relaxed to a bachelor’s degree for exceptionally strong candidates.

Nice to have

• Project coordination and delivery experience with OEMs and autonomous driving solution vendors, plus familiarity with mainstream industrial testing standards and client requirements.
• Experience building AD scenario libraries, programming test scripts, and performing post-test data analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive onboard sensor fundamentals and practical experience simulating multiple camera and LiDAR variants.
• Experience building architectures, deploying private-cloud environments, and operating cloud-native simulation platforms.
