Principal Application Engineer-VTD (Autonomous Driving Simulation)

What you will do

• Research autonomous driving simulation trends, technical architectures, and VTD core modules.
• Design and implement customized full-scenario simulation testing solutions covering MIL, SIL, HIL, DIL, and cloud-based simulation.
• Provide lifecycle technical support for VTD simulation testing, including software operation, environment setup, and test execution.
• Diagnose and resolve software, runtime, and system compatibility issues to support successful project delivery.
• Customize VTD IG, ROD, and MM modules, including parameter configuration and functional adjustments.
• Build and optimize camera and LiDAR sensor simulations for different hardware specifications.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in autonomous driving simulation testing.
• Expertise in VTD and experience setting up, commissioning, and delivering VTD-based XIL solutions.
• Experience designing, deploying, debugging, maintaining, and optimizing VTD simulation systems on private cloud infrastructure.
• Practical knowledge of scenario simulation, vehicle dynamics simulation, automated testing tools, and AD testing workflows.
• Strong client communication, requirements decomposition, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
• Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Vehicle Engineering, or a related discipline; a bachelor’s degree may be accepted for exceptional candidates. Ability to read English technical literature and communicate orally in English is required.

Nice to have

• Project coordination and delivery experience with OEMs and autonomous driving solution vendors.
• Knowledge of industrial testing standards, AD scenario library construction, test script programming, and post-test data analysis.
• Experience simulating multiple camera and LiDAR variants.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native simulation platforms.
