Lead Research Scientist (Quantum Computing)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid position with office attendance required and no remote exception

Salary: $215,300–$344,600 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Shape the research and development agenda for quantum information and computation in finance and payments.
• Design and test novel quantum computing algorithms and models.
• Oversee applications such as portfolio optimization, risk analysis, and derivative pricing.
• Collaborate with technology, product, business, academic, government, and cross-functional partners.
• Publish findings in top-tier conferences and journals while influencing product, project, and technology roadmaps.
• Mentor research scientists and build relationships across the quantum information and computation research community.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, engineering, physics, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience; 6 years preferred.
• Internationally recognized research record demonstrated through high-impact publications, patents, and research-community contributions.
• Expertise in quantum computing solutions for financial or related applications.
• Proficiency with quantum programming environments such as Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience deploying and validating algorithms on quantum hardware, plus demonstrated mentoring and research leadership.

Nice to have

• More than 5 years of postdoctoral research experience in quantum computing or related fields.
• Leadership of large-scale, multi-institution research programs.
