What you will do

• Develop and maintain k6, an open-source performance testing tool written in Go.
• Implement features from initial concept through delivery, evaluating technical trade-offs.
• Build Go services for the k6 cloud offering to support distributed test execution across data centers.
• Collaborate with other engineers via asynchronous design notes and code reviews.
• Maintain the health and reliability of the open-source project and its community.

Requirements

• Strong experience building production software in Go or languages with high concurrency support.
• Proven track record of working with large, long-lived codebases.
• Deep understanding of internet protocols including HTTP, gRPC, and WebSockets.
• Ability to work independently on scoped problems in a remote environment.
• Must be based in the United States Eastern time zones.

Nice to have

• Contributions to open-source projects or the k6 ecosystem.
• Experience with performance, reliability, or network optimization.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Docker, or AWS.
